Absentee Voting

If you are registered to vote in Transylvania County and do not wish to vote in person on election day, you may request an application for absentee ballots from the Elections Office.

 

Applications for absentee ballots may be requested as follows:

By Mail

The voter or a near relative may make a written request not earlier than 50 days or later than 5 p.m. on the Tuesday before an election.

 

You may also call the Board of Elections office at 884-3114 for an Absentee Ballot Request Form, which will be mailed to you. This request form should be completed according to the instructions provided with the form and returned to the Elections Office, P.O. Box 868, Brevard, NC, 28712.

 

After the request is received, the Election Office will mail the voter an official application and ballots, both of which must be completed according to instructions and returned no later than 5 p.m. on the Monday prior to the election.

 

In Person

The voter, a near relative or legal guardian of the voter may appear at the Elections Office not earlier than 50 days nor later than 5 p.m. on the Tuesday before an election to complete an application.

 

The voter will be mailed the ballots, which must be returned no later than 5 p.m. on the Monday prior to the election.

 

One Stop

Eligible voters may appear at the One-stop Absentee Voting location not earlier than 19 days prior to nor later than 1 p.m. on the Saturday before Election Day, complete an application, receive and vote the ballots. More...
